Customization of Open Source Mind Lamp Platform Developed by Harvard Medical School & Digital Stethoscope

Context & Background

Digital health tools like active cognitive monitoring platforms and digital stethoscopes are transforming patient care. Adapting these international open-source tools to local Indian languages and healthcare settings is essential to promote adoption in primary health centers.

Problems to be Addressed

Harvard's Mind Lamp platform requires local language translations and adaptation to clinical workflows at Indian hospitals. Standard stethoscopes cannot record and clean acoustic signals under noisy rural clinic settings.

Aims and Objectives

1. Customize the open-source Mind Lamp platform for Indian clinical settings.
2. Develop a digital stethoscope with active noise-reduction algorithms.
3. Conduct clinical feasibility studies in association with AIIMS Pulmonology.

Methodology

The project implements localized UI/UX layers on the Mind Lamp code repository. The digital stethoscope hardware utilizes piezo-electric sensors and edge filtering chips. Acoustic signal processing algorithms filter out ambient clinic noise to amplify cardiac/pulmonary murmurs.

Expected Outcomes

A localized Mind Lamp platform release, digital stethoscope prototypes, and clinical trials reports at AIIMS.
